Petticoat Reviews Database.

Finally I've gotten round to creating this requested database so please add your petticoat reviews - brand or online seller are both welcome and everyone will of course be credited! I'll divide the database into subsections by make and brand/off-brand/online seller once we have a few reviews. Links to reviews are also welcome if you've already written one. (I'm not including one-off petticoats i.e. Those bought from thrift stores etc. Because those are not ones others can purchase themselves.)

Brand Petticoats:

fixers - A very big and stiff petticoat from Moi-Meme-Moitie. It is well made and with the two layers it gives a whole lot of poof. Underneath there is a satin-like underskirt to prevent scratching and itching your legs. However I find that this one can not be worn under a skirt made of thin lightweight material. You can see a pointy outline of the stiff tule, not very flattering. When wearing skirts of heavier thicker material there s nothing to worry about. Baby The Stars Shine Bright:

cidsa - BTSSB Petticoat - Seems to be their standard one. Gives a nice amount of poof and is nice and stiff, although gets a little squished under heavier skirts (like velveteen). Very good.

cidsa - Meta Organdie Pannier - Probably the best one I own. As serena_skylark said, it could hold up a bridge. It's really soft and yet gives a lot of poof, even under heavy velveteen skirts. Awesome :D

Angelic Pretty:

cidsa - Angelic Pretty Petticoat - Another luckypack petti. Very similar to the baby petticoat, but it has some ribbons on it. Gives good poof, perhaps a little more than the baby one (it's newer). Very good.

Off-Brand Petticoats:

(Includes Western labels.)

Stocking Shock:

fixers - A cotton one, it is Stockingshock's 'Victorian petticoat" It gives a little-moderate poof, especially in the back, whereas the frotn is on layer, the back has several tiers of ruffle attached for a slight bustle effect. Depending on the dress I'm wearing I use this one as an underskirt together with one of the black petties. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/nakiko/untitled.jpg) Stocking Shock in the middle.

ikiningyo - I bought this petticoat from Fan+Friend some time ago. It gives great volume (a bit too much for me actually, I cut off some of the layers), and the correct shape, but the quality isn't too good. While the material is okay (and probably the best you can get for that price), the seaming for the transparant gauze fabric came undone almost immediately, causing the fabric to fray badly.

I would say: don't buy this petticoat unless you're willing to reseam the transparent fabric.

zenfu - Considering that you can't actually buy just a petticoat from Cosplay_oh (as far as I know), it's just a free gift when you purchase something else, it's rather difficult to review it just for itself. If it had been sold separately though, I would not have bought it. The material is cheap and scratchy, and it doesn't really give a very good shape at all.

sasword - I got my petticoat from Cosplay_oh as part of one of their dress sets. It was far too short for the dress (which was made to my taller than average measurements.) this implied that it wasn't made specially for my dress. Also the netting was pretty scratchy - it did provide a good level of 'poof' however and would have been a good 'fill-in' petticoat for any shorter lolitas.

In the Starlight:

cidsa - (For their Princess Petticoat) The petticoat is quite well made, there were some excess threads and a very small stain (I think this actually happened during shipping due to the location and such). The petticoat gives enough poof for me and is comfortable to wear and is stiff enough to hold up heavier skirts/dresses. I like how the tulle is sandwiched between two cloth layers, this petticoat is not itchy at all! Was made and shipped very quickly. I recommend buying this petticoat.

sagolik - i ordered a poof petticoat a while ago. it arrived exactly two weeks after i sent my order, which i think is pretty fast considering i wanted it to be another length (longer) and i live pretty far away (sweden), and it arrived in a big box, so it wasn't mashed at all. (and it's much more fun to open a box than an envelope!) the petticoat is very poofy, and i think the shape is perfect, and the tulle is sandwiched between two layers of soft fabric, so you won't scratch neither your legs or skirts. i honestly don't have anything bad to say about this petticoat, i don't think i'll find a better one, especially not for that price, i'm totally in love. <3

Candy Violet:

captainlottie - Just received my candyviolet fluffy petticoat today! Delivary was fast, it took a week to receive and I live in the UK. The petticoat itself is gorgeous, the material is really soft and smooth, not scratchy at all and is well made. Worn under a slightly heavy btssb jsk which before needed several not so good petti's to give it shape, the candyviolet petticoat really poofs it out with perfect shape, definitely reccomended, especially considering the price as well!
